Just received a ticket for £100 for parking at a retail park in Stockport. Unfortunately I didn't see the pay and display signs as I normally visit my local retail park where there are no charges, and so I am used to not paying and didn't see the signs. It was simply an oversight on my part and I was only there for 10 minutes. On the ticket issued by the Company Excel Parking Services Ltd they state that they will contact the DVLA for my name and address details. Does anyone know if they are legally allowed to do this? I would have thought that I was protected by the Data Protection Act. They also took a photograph of my vehicle.

Yes they can get the name and address of the registered keeper from the DVLA

agh, but they didnt take a picture of who was driving it.
In any event, dont pay it, dont acknowledge it, just file it away in a drawer along with any others you get. they will eventually stop coming.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Andy99, as you are a newbie you might not realise how many similar cases are on here. Read some of these other cases, going back as many pages as you like and you will find the answers are the same re private tickets:

This is a scam ticket, it is unenforceable and you can safely ignore it completely. Nothing will happen apart from the possible arrival of several scam letters designed to scare the registered keeper into paying their demand. No-one will take you to Court and no bailliffs can be instructed, no CCJ will result.
DON'T PAY, and DON'T reply to their rubbish letters at all.
Tell your friends, people need to know not to pay these tickets.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
