I had an idea the other day that you could purchase £200 worth of stamps on a 0% puchases cc (assuming it appears on statement as a purchase) then take them back for a refund (in cash). I believe that stamps are classed as legal tender, cash, either at a post office or via a postal order. If this worked it could be a simple bud odd way of getting cash on a 0% cc fees free.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Who told you stamps are legal tender?
No one is obliged to accept postage stamps as payment for anything (apart from delivering a letter).
The post office might be willing to refund a purchase of stamps (I cant say I have ever heard of that) but if they did I would think they would insist on the refund be given using the same method as was used for payment.
