Citadel Puzzles (Jigsaws)

I recently bought a jigsaw puzzle at the Bovingdon Tank Museum.
When I finished it there was one piece missing (which may be down to me !). In the box was a card saying if you lose a piece, let us know which piece and we will try and replace it. (My highlighting)
I e-mailed Citadel puzzles, with a photo and row/column number for the missing piece.
This morning the postman delivered a brand new complete puzzle. As I didn't want to search through 1000 pieces (!) for the missing bit I have donated the new puzzle to my next door neighbour for her MacMillan coffee morning next week.
Well done Citadel Puzzles !

I know Waddingtons used to send missing pieces out too.
It seems a bit of a waste to send a whole puzzle out, after all you still have a jigsaw with a missing piece! If they'd have held back a spare for just this occurrance, they would potentially be able to help many more people without wasting cardboard.
Oh well, good service anyway. congrats.Out on blue six..

True. But would you want the job of sifting through 1,000 pieces to find the right one?0 -

It is probably cheaper and easier to send out a new one than to have all 1000 pieces in stock and then have to identify which piece is missing and send it out.0 -
That's good customer service. I have just finished a jigsaw. It only took me 2 hours, which is pretty good because it said 3 to 6 years on the box.0

I was on a cruise recently and one of the waiters (Filipino) in the bar was telling us than when the ship got back to Dover he had to take a puzzle he had bought back to the shop as the bits didn't match the farm scene on the box.
As he walked away he turned and said - "name on puzzle was Kellogs " ! :rotfl::rotfl:

You don't need to sift through the pieces, you just "grab" the jigsaw after it has been cut but before the pieces are separated. Then you have a completed jigsaw so all you need is the row/column number.0
