Good luck Melabarrie - you did it once before so you can do it again. This time you haven't got a 2-legged millstone round your neck so you can forge ahead, make a 12-month action plan and tick off each bit as you achieve it. Then see where you are 12 months from here - I'll bet that debt will have diminished a fair bit. And don't be naughty using those credit cards!

    Onwards and Upwards!

  • Oooh no, Nargleblast, credit cards have been cut completely up. And anyway when I enter into a payment plan with these ccard companies all the accounts will be closed. And that's fine by me.

I think I may have scored a little part time job! I'll keep you all posted. Woo hoo :T

If you are 9 months into your phone contract, (t mobile won't permit this) phone and reduce your monthly package, you can usually reduce by £5, and remember to do it again next month, I did it four times, I went from a £35 contract to a £15. Just watch your minutes and txts though.
  • Hi elantan, I remember you too! Thanks for the welcome. Yes my new life is terribly exciting, if a little scary at the minute. But I am forging ahead and smiling all the way :D

Washer, great advice but they won't let me do anything at the minute. But fingers crossed I'll be able to do something about it soon.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well. I love coming on here and reading the challenges. I can't wait to be able to join them soon.

    Have a great morning! :T

  • Hi. You should be able to get Jobseekers though surely and council tax benefit. If you get a part time job you should be able to get working tax credits I think?
Anyway - you might have to offer the creditors 1 pound each until you have things a bit more settled - first priority is to eat and keep the house.
Any news on getting a mortgage holiday or anything?
