  • Hi

A friend of mine used spareroom.com and has a Mon - Thurs lodger. In fact cause they are working they really only sleep in her house. Weekends are then free.

maybe you could do the same as a halfway thing - she gets £20 a night.

    It's a great help.

    Anyway - Good Luck!

  • Aww, thanks guys for your well wishes.

I have been lurking around the forum for about two weeks now. And I went back to look at my old posts and how I did when I was getting out of debt the first time. It is really great to be back in the fold.

I know I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, but I know it's there. I just have to persevere.

On a positive side, I got a cheque for £50 from a friend today for my birthday. It was really nice getting money through the post and not bills. More of that please!!

    *sigh*

  • I know exactly what you mean with not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I'm fairly new to this and just had debts, debts and more debts, i can not wait to type my first post stating that the debt is gone!

You have done it before so you know you can do it again ;)

Also make sure you spend your bday on yourself and not on bills :)

Happy Birthday (for whenever it is!)

    Happy Birthday.
Very new to this site so please forgive me if I get it all bacwards uppards. I read not long ago that you can claim mortgage interest relief after 13 weeks now, Shelter I think have the details. Hope your not unemployed that long though. Good luck with it all, the path of life sure has a few dodgy flagstones though!
  • Thanks for the birthday wishes. Birthday was Wednesday, the day I was told I was being put on unpaid leave by my temp job.

I've put up a spare room for rent, so let's hope I get a lodger soon. It took quite a bit of talking to myself to come to terms with sharing my space with someone (hard to do after a break up:o) but I've got to do something, so here I go....

I couldn't possibly spend that birthday money on myself, in it goes to the bank, while I try to figure out the way to get the other £365 to pay mortgage at the end of the month!:rotfl:

But I'm keeping positive, it's a long dark road ahead, but at least my smile will light the way. As I say, the only way is up, right? :D

Hope you all have another great DFW day. Chalk up another NSD for me!! (these are easy when you ain't got no money!:rotfl:)
