Help please, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
We have an annual contract for BG Service. This has been completed every year since 1982, when the boiler (Potterton) was new.
BG wrote recently to say that they can no longer can get the spare parts for the boiler.
Just had the renewal contract for another years homecare 200 - cost is £256.19  Includes a discount £17.10 :rotfl:
Like everyone, finances are stretched, but after all this time, should we find the money from somewhere to renew or not ?
Many thanks

This seems to be standard practice for BG. I had a similar letter for my 1988 boiler.
Parts are available for all boilers of your vintage - it is just BG wanting to get you to replace your boiler. You will probably get a 'follow up' letter from their sales team offering you an 'unbeatable' deal on a new boiler.
I cancelled my Homecare agreement with BG a couple of years ago for that very reason - wish I had done it years ago.0 -
We only trace parts from baxi directly and a few suppliers near the parts storage which is in leicester ( I think) so we may have rang out or baxi dont make them for BG.
Try another boiler maintanence provider they may be able to source parts but that letter is a warning that parts are becoming scarce or they have ran out totally. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Many thanks for your help...........
However, I should have kept quiet - BG prounounced the boiler dead this morning. Not sure where we go from here, their rep is coming to survey next week sometime.
Once again many thanks for trying to help0
