- 30 minute call to Three to cancel 1/3 contracts. Final bill comes out 15th July
To Do
- Cancel T-Mobile contract (£150 outstanding)
- Pay rent/bills of £245
- Cut up redundant Capital One credit cardOutstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!
Deposit Saved - £6k (/£20k)0 -
Long time since it's been updated, but finally got around to it!
Since last time
- Paid off T-mobile and Three contract
- Cancelled redundant Capital One credit card
- Cleared Vanquis card (£14), now fully clear with a limit of £1k. Keeping for emergencies
- Cleared off debt to parents
- Saved £3k
- Started process with default owners to see if there's anyway they can be removed - would allow a house purchase earlier!
I've also just made the decision to move into a flat with the girlfriend - saves me £40 a month in train travel, albeit the flat itself is more expensive than our old arrangement (living with 2 housemates). We do get our own space though, and we're frugal with electricity, so bills should be minimal!
I'm also interviewing for a job much closer to home, which would again reduce travel costs - and I'm still aiming to save about £1k a month with the goal of £20k by the end of next year!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Very brief update - now completely debt-free with only 2 outstanding defaults that I'm querying. The rest are due to fall off by July 2015, but are satisfied, so am enquiring with mortgage brokers as to whether I can get a mortgage earlier - needs are changing somewhat with the introduction of a baby in the family!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!
