sounds like you are getting it together. Like some of the other posters - I can't recommend the £10 a day challenge enough. You can always start with a lower amount...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks holmes, the mystery shopping was off the back of the £10 a day challenge, and i'm sure i've got other eBay stuff that can help me hit target as well! Incredibly impressed by your Year 1 total, so that'll be my inspiration!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Good luck today with Churchwood & obtaining your Credit Report.0 -
Where abouts in Italy? I went to Rome a couple of years ago and would love to go back.....Debt free date - 4th December 2008 :j0

Thanks Aniya, i'll keep everyone updated a bit later - i'm hoping i've paid more off with Churchwood than i thought!
Carole - off to Bergamo, it's pretty cheap, all in i think we've paid £280 for flights for 2 and a lovely B&B. I'm budgeting for about £80-90 a day on food etc, and we fly out friday, so Friday dinner, Saturday and Sunday lunch - although that reminds me, i should book airport parking today!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Slow weekend so far - spent all day lazing around, but had to drop the OH at work, so a roundabout trip of 45 miles, luckily i get the train to work and had enough petrol! Just enjoying a film before Match of the Day and then onto bed.
Money wise - i upgraded my Barclays current accounr to a Plus one. £5 a month, gets me card protection, mobile phone insurance and legal advice - not bad considering my current phone insurance was £6 a month!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

A new week, a new start!
As well as clearing my debt, i'm now pledging to shift a stone in weight before Xmas day - a simply enough task in theory as i'm hoping to run my 2nd marathon next may! Should help me cut down on food costs (crisps/muffins etc) and generally feel fitter!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Wowza, excellent news Hallsy! :j
It feels good to tackle all these things doesn't it?

It does indeed!
Started my money diary today so i can see what i spend and earn. Threw some stuff on our internal noticeboard last week and have had enquiries for 2 items, so that's £25 this week, and i completed a survey for £5 amazon vouchers today, so that's a little start to the Xmas pressies!
Feeling confident, but still need to speak to Churchwood and see if they'll take a slightly smaller payment this month - changeover in job has left my finances irregular, it'll be a few weeks before i'm into a groove with it!Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Hey hallsy
Just been reading through your diary - you seem really motivated!
I've just tried a spending diary this month, I can't recommend it enough. Simply writing it down seems to help stop all those silly little spends you know you don't really need. Well, it does for me anyway!
Good luck with the debt shifting. We have the same debt free date, so I'll be sure to pop back in...
