Call from Lloyds, no refund as I have no debt with them???

Lloyds just called me up saying if I had any kind of debt with them then they would consider paying me my charges back or doing something to help my financial situation. I explained I tried really hard to pay off the debts I had with them so they would stop charging me and then I started banking elsewhere.
They have accepted that I'm in financial hardship but since the money I owe isn't to them they don't think they should help.
I told them I've wrote to the FOS and they said "Well yoou can try that but as far as Lloyds TSB are concerned those charges are fair."
What on earth are they playing at!

Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)?
Are any of the arrears being paid off?
Do you still use the Lloyds account?0 -
Currently owe rent to council from when I was self-employed which I'm struggling to pay, especially since as of next week I'm starting a new job, my housing benefit will stop and I won't get paid until end of October, when I finally do get paid it won't cover my rent+arrears, I owe several hundred to yorkshire water which was getting taken out of my benefits, that will soon stop too and they'll expect higher payments as I'm working. Over limit on 2 credit cards, some store cards, and I have a CCJ on one of my store cards. Also missed several months worth of payments to catslogues because I can't afford the minimum payments so I get charged on top of my balance every month. There's also a mobile contract that I owe a lot of money on after a dispute with 3 mobile.
Theres nowhere else I can get help from, my credit rating is literally through the floor so no chance of loans for consolidation.
I do bank with them as I have my benefits paid into that account, they won't even give me a debit card so if I need to pay bills I have to transfer to my halifax account.2011 Wins: Recipe book

Store cards are non priority debts but the £12 default charges can be reclaimed.missnikkai wrote: »Currently owe rent to council from when I was self-employed which I'm struggling to pay, especially since as of next week I'm starting a new job, my housing benefit will stop and I won't get paid until end of October, when I finally do get paid it won't cover my rent+arrears, I owe several hundred to yorkshire water which was getting taken out of my benefits, that will soon stop too and they'll expect higher payments as I'm working. CCJ is non priority debt and is infact the worst that can happen with regards to store cards/credit cards and loans.
Here is the problem, you aren't in hardship as such but when you start working it will be which I know sounds crazy.
Did you not claim housing benefit whilst unemployed?
Do you have charges from Halifax?0 -
I did claim housing benefit whilst unemployed, I've been very careful with halifax and as of yet haven't been charged.2011 Wins: Recipe book
