Pocket PC

Hi,

I need to use Microsoft Outlook as my main diary but this creates difficulties when away from my desk and Ineed to check appointments / add apointments in meetings. I was thinking about investing in a Pocket PC of some kind or an electronic diary that would be compatible with Outlook. I would also like something that I can show my photos on - does anyone have any suggestions at what I should be looking for?

All advice welcome :j

Thanks in advance

  • I'd suggest getting a Windows Mobile based phone. These can quickly and simple sync with Outlook.
I have an O2 XDA Guide (O2 branded HTC Touch Cruise 09).
I think it will do everything that you are asking and alot more. It even comes with CoPilot Satnav, Microsoft Office Mobile and has 3.2 mega pixel camera and is obviously a phone.

For full specs and other XDA models look HERE

If you do not want O2 I am sure that other companies offer similar.

    Hope this helps a little.

If you want something that doesn't incorporate a phone, then one of the older-style Palm PDAs will do what you want - they generally have an Outlook conduit and good quality colour screens that display photos well.

Any recent WinCE-based PDA should also come with the facility to synch with Outlook.

They should also be fairly cheap, as combined phone/PDAs have almost taken over that market.

I use Google Calendar and an iPod Touch.

Both iCal on my Mac and my iPod Touch are synced with it, and changing the calendar on one updates the calendar on all the others. I can also access my calendar anywhere in the world there's a web browser.

You can sync Outlook with Google Calendar.

An iPod Touch would also be very nice for displaying your photos.

Thank you- I will look all these different gadgets up. The IPOD touch sounds good.

Thanks to all for taking the time to reply
