Wired network sharing on Time Capsule

I have a BT Home Hub which I connect to my 500GB Time capsule over wired ethernet. I've set the TC up to act as a bridge and I can then access the internet over wifi no problem. However, I've tried plugging in the PS3 using one of the ethernet ports on the time capsule and it times out while trying to autoconfig.
So, anyone tried to set things up this way? If so, can you offer any advice. I know I can connect the PS3 over wifi (and have this set up at the moment) but I'd prefer the reliability of a wired connection.
TIA
