Halifax 5% Regular Saver Question

Hi,

Me and partner have each opened one of these accounts and are yet to fund it.

I have an Egg Online Saver, Is it okay to drip feed my partners Regular Saver from my Egg Savings, is this permitted or will it be a problem later?

Cheers

    It will be fine.

Remember to allow the 3 woking days from Egg to Halifax when making the payment.

Remember that missed payments in a calendar month lose you the Regular Saver rate.
  • Hi,

Finally Halifax RS became active and I logged into my Egg acount and made a payment of £500 in to my Halifax RS, the first time around I got a message stating that the payment was unsuccessful, so did it again... went through this time, got a successfully paid message.

Checked my statement online after making the payments, I have paid twice  (£1000) - so easy to make a mistake online...

Do I need to call Halifax and let them know this was a mistake? any idea how should this be handled.

    Cheers

Probably need to talk to Halifax. I guess the worst than can happen as it is your first payment(s) is that you have to close it and start again.
  • Spoke to Halifax, they said they would take in £500 into the regular Saver and then transfer the rest into my Nominated Account, and this will not effect my T&C.

    Cheers

Assume you've written down (somewhere safe) the name and extension number/call centre of the person you spoke to and the date/time of the call?

No did not occur to my mind when I spoke to them.
Is there any way you can email them and get a resposne which will be easier to keep for records. Can you send them a secure email? I did not spot a link on their online banking.

Pesonally I would'nt be too worried. If you break their other RS terms they close the RS down and return the money to the noiminated account. Assuming they do as indicated it will be obvious by the fact that the account remains open that you have not breached terms.

Just a view, though written proof is obviously best.
