The economy and dating

Has the downturn in the economy changed the way you date, the types of dates that you have, or changed who you are looking to date? Do you search for potential dates differently than you did a year or so ago? Are you as picky or not as picky contacting people as you were a year or so ago ? What impact has the economy had on your love life, if any?

I'm curious to see how other people are faring with dating since the economy is in the dumps.

  • I've noticed that on match.com, several of the men put their salary as what they were earning a year ago, whereas they now don't have a job so it's not really true. But I'm always fairly sceptical of what people put on their profile anyway so I don't think it's changed anything for me. I haven't changed the kind of person I search for. Although I suppose when I've dated someone without a job I am a bit more sensitive to the potential cost of dates.
  • I'm on LiveDateLove.com for a long time , I found that it is funny how many women put in their criteria that they're looking for a millionaire .... on a free dating site , they're trying to find a rich man ?

That's a very nosy post from a first time poster. Why not be friendly and tell us how you cope ?
