First Plus / Barclays

Evening all
Thanks to this site I successfully claimed my ppi back from First Plus.
Now about a week after I sent our acceptance form back we both received letters from Barclaycard stating that they were closing our accounts and they were unable to discuss the matter as it was compnay policy therefore confidential. Took me a few days to come to the conclusion that as Fist Plus are part of the Barclays group, the reason our credit cards have been cancelled is due to our successful claim against them.
Does anyone else agree? and if so do you think I should complain about treated unfairly? At then end of the day they will be getting their own money back as I planned to pay off the cards with the money we reclaimed.
I also have an ongoing loan with First Plus and need to send my first letter to reclaim on that loan too. Is it worth asking to cancel the policy in the same letter or wait and see what the outcome is? If they have paid out on my previous loan I cant see how they can refuse on this reclaim either.
Look forward to any comments

Hi
I too am in the process of reclaiming PPI from FP.
Mine is currently with the FOS though. They were willing to uphold 1 but not the other so I sent everything to the Ombudsman.
If you feel it would be dealt with include it in your letter, I included everything in my letter and they dealt with it all. Good Luck with your quest....and well done for being successful.:T:jLiving Life to the Full0 -

Of course if your not happy then complain, you have every right to do so. As usual they have 8 weeks to resolve this.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Just a thought, if I sucessfully reclaim on my exsisting loan, will the automatically cancel the ppi and re-adjust the loan accordingly.0 -

Your welcome.;)
They may cancel, but they should let you know this really beforehand.
And also in regards of the loan as its still active, again this may be the case that they will restructure on this, however, either way they should let you know, in order to make sure your happy with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thank you for the advice.
We've decided to go ahead with the reclaim and see what the outcome is with regard to cancelling ppi and restructure of the loan..
Letter one to printed off within the hour, once again thank you0 -

hi, just look at the news too ,FOS announced it has upheld 99% of firstplus claims!!!! ,the other one percent were brokers loans so its a safe bet, have you got your rate riseletter yet off FP?
seems that they like to raise our rates ,even though the base rate hasnt moved . russ0 -

No letter here yet! Think its pretty disgusting if they do or is it them trying to re-coup the losses from their mis-sold poilcies.
Even more reason to get the reclaim letter off tomorrow.0 -
Oh and also been to my local Barclays this week (business related) and they're spending £1 million on the refurbishment. Wonder where they get that kind of money !!!!0
