hurrah for A&L - for a change

At last common sense prevails!! My OH had charges on his A&L account, and incurred charges on his charges. He hadn't used the account, or paid anything in, and there was a £10 monthly charge, so he went overdrawn almost immediately. To cut a long story short, the charges just went up and up. We contacted them a couple of months ago and had the standard letter back, wrote again saying still not happy with the response and could they send details of the Ombudsman. Today, he's had a letter, saying that although the fees are correct, they have taken account of his situation and are pleased to advise that on this occasion they have refunded the full amount!!
Well done A&L for showing a bit of common sense! and thank you!!

it's taken them since mid-July to respond - and I had all but given up hope - was going to try one last letter saying, "please read to the end of this letter.." as I think they were just seeing 'charges' and sending out the same letter as 'normal' charges. I'm quick enough to criticise on here - so lets give them some credit for a change hey! Good luckBern :j0
