Sorry to hear your news, look on the bright side though, you've managed to get 3 jobs in 6 months so you must be doing something right :)

    Good luck!

(this job wasn't in Exeter by any chance was it? It sounds so similar to what happened to me I have to ask or it will bug me!)
    Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
  • Freaky - no it wasn't - alot further west!

I know what you mean about the jobs - I just wish (as I guess OH will do) I could find a job that I was truely happy in - seems like a lifetime ago that that was the case.

I've had a look on several internet sites tonight and made a list of jobs to phone up about tomorrow, although I know with recruitment agencies they could be phantom jobs but you never know.

Have now officially hit rock bottom, in all aspects of my life, so as the song says the only way is up - have to laugh otherwise I would cry!

For the last few months I have not been working so I know how hard it is to try to find work again. Have you thought about looking into working as a Christmas temp in a shop or a supermarket. I am having an interview tomorrow with Debenhams and the retail industry seem to have a lot vacancies at the moment, I know most of them are only temporary but for me it's better than nothing.

Good luck with your job hunting.

  • Thanks Becky for thinking of me.

I have actually thought of that and will be applying to Argos and the local supermarkets to see if they want me,lol!

Its weird actually - the last two occasions when I was sacked I cried (even though I knew what the outcome was going to be on the first, the second came as a bolt out of the blue) but that hasn't been the case here ......perhaps its because I had an inkling of what was coming.

I've spent the day getting in contact with the dreaded recruitment agencies and hopefully one will be able to get me an interview for next week and I'm going to see another tomorrow about a temp receptionist job. To be honest I think I've been through the mill so much in the last six months, I think temping would be better for me - if only to get my confidence back.

However what was weird today was that I saw an advert last night for a role that I'm very much suited for and I called literally first thing this morning and I was advised to email my cv over asap as the boss was pulling the ad due to the number of applicants she'd had.....and it turns out that I worked with the boss many moons ago and she remembered me - how weird is that! I thought the name was familar but as the industry is completely different from the one I knew her in I didn't think it could be the same person.

So hopefully I will at least get an interview in that respect. (fingers crossed anyway!)
