Retro Bank Statements

Retro Bank Statements

WOW - Look what I came across...... The good old memories :D

Anyone got an old statement they want to post up? Lets have some fun with retro-statements and compare limits in the 80's! Bear in mind in 1980, £500 was classed as a high limit!

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/historic-inflation-calculator calculates it at under £2K (£1865) - not that much at all compared with some limits you can get these days.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Ahh but then if memory serves me right I could buy 10 fags for less than a quid and get a beer for less than 80p, talking of which - a Mars Bar and a can of coke would have cost less than 50p.

In comparison to the times £500 was a lot of money (the average salary was a measly £11,000)......

  • I remeber back in the late 80's , I got a Barclaycard Visa and Mastercard (both at the same time) with a limit on each of £500.That was around 1989 - my first credit card.My first ever card in 1986 was a Topman storecard with a limit of £250 - I went wild spending for my first lads holiday -parents told me off when I got home!Three weeks later it was all in the sale!

I worked for them after leaving school for several years - funny , there card was quite hard to get!we used to do the applications in store , and phone them through and 8/10 people were rejected including me!Even when I was a manager...there cards were run by royscot financial services in manchester , had a good day out there once.

Memories....although I had the next gold card!Mind you we all shopped at Next - even the Area managers!

Shame you never took your own advice back then. :rotfl:

Is this why you're so bitter, twisted, jealous and continually preaching to people on MSE NOT to repay their debts because you paid your own ? :rotfl:

    Pot, kettle, black !

I tell you, you trolls need to be weeded out once and for all - its becoming tiresome!
