Bank Charges

I have a claim in with Yorkshire Bank re charges to my account from 2007 back six years, like most claims I have been told it has been put on hold.
In 2008 I had a health problem which resulted in me going on the sick, to cut a long storey short I ended up loosing my job.
I went into my Bank to see if they could help but was told all claims had been put on hold until the court case was sorted.

I put a letter of hardship into the Bank, the reply I recived was that due to the volume of claims they would need further time to look into my case this went on for some 8 weeks when I was finaly contacted by the Bank where they asked for breakdown of the Households incomeand expenditure,I questioned this as it was only my account which was in question, but they would not accept this and said that unless we gave the full household incom they would not look into my claim,
reluctantly we provided them with all the information that they required.

I asked what would happen next and was told they would only be looking at the period from when I lost my job in November 2008 until the present?
I informed them that this was not in the period from which my claim had stared.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I have not put in a claim for this period but I had wrote to my branch and told them that if they would accept my claim for the six years up to 2007 I would concider not putting in a further claim from 2008-2009.
Any body have eny info or advice would be most greatfull.

Classic Financial hardship claim, lifestyle event leads to lower income and charges impacting onto the ability to repay priority debts. Under financial hardship it is a reasonable approach. They have the right to ask household income and expenditure in order to assess financial hardship which is about today. I hope that helps.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
