They keep asking if they can show people around. Where do I stand with this? Can I ask them to wait until the end of my contracted period before they show people around?

The OP asked a simple question about his rights. These are clear and have been explained.

As to whether it is selfish, or wise, that is completely different. I repeat what I said in my 1st post: "but best approach is as ifonlyitwaseasier suggests - certain days/times when you'll agree to be there. Keep things amicable if you can!"
  • Thanks guys for your comments. I will arrange times with my agent to suit.

TerryW, I respect that people are looking to rent, I myself am also moving into rented so understand what you are saying. But please do not think that having a certain amount of privacy is selfish.

    Regards

Dave, that is absolutely great that you are arranging times with your agent to suit.
This helps out the people who are looking to rent. Karma rules

I certainly do not think that having a certain amount of privacy is selfish.. I have never suggested this in any shape or form. I really don't know why you have made this comment. It is grossly unfair.

Please see your first post where you asked:

"Can I ask them to wait until the end of my contracted period before they show people around?" This is a mile away from "a certain amount of privacy".

  • Terryw, I was originally asking the question because on recent viewing of properties, for the majority, I had to wait until people had moved out before I could view, hence the initial question.

With the help of this forum I have a better understanding of where I stand, and will speak to my agents to accommodate where possible.

As you say Karma rules, so I thank you for your comments.

    Many thanks

    Dave

Yep, Dave, karma rules, so I thank you as well. I am pleased that you have been helped by this forum. Unfortunately, your original post merely referred to your position on leaving your current dwelling, and did not refer to your viewing of your potential new properties. Pleased that you are sorted and know the position.
