Help needed on vacating property

Hello Guys,

I am having the following question about tenent rights

I took a flat through abode fletham ,middlesex office and the contract was written 2 years back.My contract was experied on 14th sep 2009.I sent abode an email (on 24th Aug 2009) saying i am vacating (on 14th sep 2009) the property before that i was told verbally on first week of aug which she denies.

Agent says i need to give them one month written notice.Now my contract experied she wants take money from my deposit (15th aug 2009 - 24th aug 2009).

My questions are as follows

1) Property vacting notice date should be within the contract date or outside contract date also valid

2) abode agent denies verbal communication so is there any way i can prove.

Regardless of the verbal conversation, it asks for one month's written notice, so you are probably stuck. Maybe stay there for the extra week, since you have paid for it?

Was this a 2 year AST? Was it renewed at any stage? What makes you say it expired on 14 September?
