After we won a fab holiday to New Zealand last year, this year my 10 year old daughter set me the challenge of averaging a competition win a month for a laugh. So far...

Wow - just out of interest - how many competitions do you enter each month!!!!

What sort of comps do you enter? i.e on line draws or send away ones?Olympic bronze challenge-started 7/1/06-total so far is £194.300

Oooh, I'm pumped up with self-importance now, haha!
I guess I enter about half a dozen online comps a day via loquax.co.uk - it only takes about ten minutes to pick out the prizes I'm most interested in (I'm superstitious, and don't enter competitions unless I really want the prize as I don't want to use up my share of luck on a crappy prize. Hmm, now I've written that down I've realised that I'm a bit of a saddo). I enter the supermarket mag comps and my daughter's pop mag ones as well, and the odd postcard comp I find on here and in other mags, but almost all the prizes I've won have come from the internet. I've never won anything from sites like Puzzler or MyOffers and I suspect they're a waste of time. I've also never won anything via text or premium rate phone line but I still do them if the prize is worth it (it's my alternative to doing the National Lottery).
You have to be prepared to put up with loads of spam, but what the heck, the holiday to New Zealand alone makes up for it (I took my Dad as well, as his brother lives out there and he'd never been over to see him before).
As far as luck goes, I just think the more comps you enter the more likely you are to win, so if you haven't won anything yet, just keep plugging away, remember it costs nothing (online, at least) and that a biggie (or a bunch of smallies) could be just around the corner... :-)0 -
https://www.loquax.co.uk - a good place to find online comps which are free to enter. I haven't done any comping for a while as I spend too much time on here. I had about 3 wins a month when I was entering some closing comps each day.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0
