can you play a dvd on your laptop but see it on your tv?

is it possible to watch a dvd on your tv through your laptop? is there a cable you can get to connect you laptop to your tv?

It depends on the laptop. If it has video or s-video out, then yes.

If not, you will have to use vga-out, through a scan converter box, to the TV. A cheap under the telly DVD player is much easier, and cheaper though.
