main branch of Barclays bank, woefully understaffed (where it counts)

anyone in Brighton who uses the North Street branch will understand my frustrstion, I am sure..
I have one bill to pay at Barclays (to avoid fees), though despite a big revamp (their second?), it seems little or none of the budget was set aside to staff the tills..
though there are plenty of 'customer service' droids, that want to to sell you god knows what, who accost you as soon as you enter the building..
having side stepped them, and filled out a payslip (they have nice pens btw- not chained down either!). i joined what I thought was the queue for the cashiers..
another droid was loitering here, making samll talk with people who didnt really want to know.. i think he was trying to get people to use the auto deposit box, rather than wait..
but no! I am just a personal customer, i need THAT queue..
shuffle across, and a 10 minute wait..
there was only three tills open, out of the 10 spaces allocated for 'personals' , (I was in Q of at least a dozen), though the business queue had only 2 or 3 waiting, with same amount of tills..
if the cash all goes in the same place at the end of the day, does it really matter who takes it? instead of having droids roam about, get them in the bleeding tills!
i got the feeling 'little people' money wasnt really welcome..
and fergawdsake STOP the very irritating 'will that be all? have a nice day' tantra too.
its a bank. not a lifestyle. get over it.

Couldn't you have just sent a cheque to the company or pay by direct debit?0
-
They probably just didn't want to serve someone who clearly looks down their nose at them and refers to them as 'droids'.0

payment was to topup a prepaid card- using paypoint incurs a (small) fee, and only cash accepted.
no cheque book- too tempting!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
