Comet : Norton AV 360 for Linux

Had a VERY interesting conversation in Comet tonight while considering picking up one of their clearance Toshiba NB100 netbooks (which runs Ubuntu).

The guy was adamant that I should have their 'starter' pack or whatever it's called. When I questioned NAV working with Linux (it doesn't) he proudly announced that he used Linux at home. "Which version?" "Linux," was the answer. "Yes, but which distribution?" "Linux!"

I decided to go for the NB100, and he said, "we'll just get it boxed up for you." To which I responded, "...a display model which has sat there continually for months on end with it's battery plugged in. I'll give you £100 for it on the spot, as I'll need to get a new battery."

Norton Anti Virus 360 for Linux. I'll have to remember that one. :rotfl:

Actually, I had a comparably daft conversation in there a few months back, ...where they said that I HAD TO GIVE THEM MY ADDRESS when buying a monitor, else I wouldn't have a warranty.

Very interesting places DSG and Comet are..

NAV on Linux, whatever next. Go back in and ask him if it runs MS Office.
BTW, if you put PCLinux OS 2009.2 on it in place of Ubuntu, you will have a much nicer experiance. It is much easier to configure printers, wifi connections and other hardware than Ubuntu is.

I have been using Linux for 10 years (alongside Win XP), and out of all the distros, I reckon PCLOS is the most user-friendly.
