Mystara you are being charged because the IC say they can charge you.
Its ridicules to suggest this charge is warranted or valid, of course it isn’t, send them a written complaint and inform them you will go to the FOS (Ombudsman), and the FSA with your concerns if they fail to rectify it.
Ps…………..address your letter “Official Complaint”, and send to their Customer Service Dept.Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

Just an update in case it helps anyone in the future...
After my initial call to Admiral, they promised that a manager would get in touch with me.
The next day I spoke with their manager. She was very nice and immediately told me that they didn't consider "rubbing against the curb" to be a claim. Consequently, they've marked the record as "claim made in error" and will update the CUE.
I haven't yet received any confirmation of this, as it wasn't due to take place until today. However, given their complete reversal of the situation, I'm fairly happy.
Thanks to everyone for the comments.0 -
As an ex-Admiral Employee (working in PI Claims) I found this thread quite unbelievable.
It is true that Admiral Group Companies (Admiral, Bell, Diamond, Elephant) wish you to report incidents as early as possible. Not just to comply with the conditions of your policy - but also to protect you should a 3rd Party wish to claim against you.
This scenario though seems to have gone a little over the top.
In fact I remember once attending a training session, on treating customers fairly, and being specifically told that sometimes we need to think outside of the box and dont treat every situation as black and white. In fact, if we thought something wasnt correct, we were actively encouraged to bring it to the attention of Henry - (The CEO).I have dealt with Motor & Personal Injury Claims for 20 years.
I joined the forum to offer the benefit of my experience and the views expressed are those solely of myself.0
