Debit card with IVA?

Options
Hi

I am going down the route of a IVA and I will be needing to change bank accounts. Now I would need a basic account with no overdraft but I would need a visa debit card as when I travel for work I have to pay for things and claim it back with a debit card slip. Are thereany accounts out there? ( other than Lloyds TSB!)

thanks

  • Nationwide flex account - has cheque book, debit card - and overdraft facilities which you can decline.
  • LOL at avoiding Lloyds TSB..................... Me too

We have just opened an account with Nat West
  • Just out of interest - why not Lloyds TSB? I hear they have a bad reputation but why did people avoid them in particular?
  • Hi Nick

It is because I bank with them at the moment and you are not allowed to bank with anyone you owe money to
  • I am with Clydesdale who are good and no credit check with ready cash account which has a maestro.x

  • Hi

We have set up our new account with Halifax and this has a debit card I think its called Expresscash account. They we're one of only 3 we could have had an account with, as we owe to so many others.
  • Intelligent Finance, never had one problem with them. and they give you an overdraft even if you're in an IVA ;-)

A few years back many of us actually in IVAs applied and were accepted for a current account with Debit Card at Citibank. You could try them.
Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
