Well done Martin for getting to £150K. Just a quick question, what were the charities they donated it to? (I only saw the last 2 questions) Thanks in advance.

As Martin said above: his charity was CAB (Citizen's Advice Bureau) whilst Angela's was for "Support Dogs" which helps to train dogs for such things as helping autistic kiddies getting in tune with the dog, thus in time enabling a child to start to communicate with people. Other things the dogs are trained for are seizure alerts, and dogs are trained to such an extent that they can tell a 1/2 hour in advance that their owner is going to have a seizure!! I could barely believe that, which is amazing!!!

Excellent work Martin and Angela, you did a fantastic job and raised an incredible amount of money which both charities will be delighted with! Many congratulations! :T Hubby & I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well done Martin and Angela £150k is a massive amount to win and I can't think of any other celebs who have won that much before.

By the way I said crocodile!! but then Angela had a convincig arguement with Anaconda....tough one I am sure.

  • I was with Martin and thought it was Anaconda or Crocodile. My husband thought it was A. (Can't remember what that one was now).

Great work tonight Martin, but I was a little disappointed to hear you say that the odds of picking the right answer on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' was '1 to 4'.

Actually, the odds are '1 to 3' whilst the probability is '1 in 4'. The former is a ratio often used in gambling, whilst the latter is more commonly used in mathematics.

Sorry to be picky Martin - but you are supposed to be a numbers guy...

This is incorrect. The odds of picking the right answer are 3 to 1. The odds of picking the wrong answer are 1 to 3. In gambling terms you would be 3/1 against or 3/1 on if you are the favourite. 3/1 on is shown in it's simplified form as 1/3.
    It's someone else's fault.
  • Martin and Angela, i do often wonder when an easy question comes along, is it easy under the spotlight? But then again it is only easy when you know the answer.

150k is a fantastic amount, well done to you both.

An easy question where the answer can be life changing suddenly is no longer easy.

  • I work for the CAB. Many thanks Martin. You were absolutely right, people are generally unaware that we are a charity and somehow leaving a collection pot out can seeem inappropriate, especially when people are looking for debt advice. The last thing we want is for people to feel obliged to contribute. However, we do have the same overheads as everyone else. It's the proverbial Catch 22.

Your message was spot on though . IF you have a bit spare and you CAN help, please do.

    Many many thanks once again.

I normally don't watch "Who wants to be ..." but when I saw it was Martin I had to leave it on. Excellent show - I thought - and nicely played Martin (& Angela) of course!
