Martin on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Great work tonight Martin, but I was a little disappointed to hear you say that the odds of picking the right answer on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' was '1 to 4'.
Actually, the odds are '1 to 3' whilst the probability is '1 in 4'. The former is a ratio often used in gambling, whilst the latter is more commonly used in mathematics.
Sorry to be picky Martin - but you are supposed to be a numbers guy...

Jamespir,
Thanks for the 'get a life' comment - nice...
Have a look at my 'join date' buddy - I was a member before you! I suggest you get a brain, or stop hijacking my thread.
For other readers, all comments said in jest - just a bit of fun... Shame Jamespir is such a ignorant sort.
Oh, ...and 'well done Martin' - great result of £150k0 -
Well done Martin for getting to £150K. Just a quick question, what were the charities they donated it to? (I only saw the last 2 questions) Thanks in advance.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0

Thanks for all the congrats - what I was trying to say as you're quite right is there was a the amount of money you could win was four times what you could lose - but i was a bit flustered at the time (most nerve racking thing I've ever done on telly).
All good fun and lots of coverage and money for CAB which is great. Will blog some of the gossip if i get timeMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

It was nerve racking watching and I found myself shouting crocodile at the tv but I had the benefit of Google at my fingertips. Well done. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0

Martin's was CAB and Angela's was one that trains dogs to help people like those with autism who have communication problems.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
