can I still reclaim charges even if I have used savings to pay off the debt?

Hi
I need inspiration and I find these boards and everyone on them an enormous help. I've just got married (and please spare me the "don't marry debt" comments. I love him, and we both have MH problems which we are actively working on to solve, besides, everyone has already said it all!) SO. He is about £4K in debt with various credit cards, some of which i've paid off with wedding cash, some of which with 0% transfers. It could be a LOT worse....

Suppose I pay off ALL the debts, his and mine, with savings- can I still claim back mis-sold PPI and literally mountains of charges from (his) credit cards and bank? (Nat Pest and various incl. Virgin)

I have written some letters and I'm in contact with a lovely lady at Nat Pest but as you may expect it is going rather slowly- I keep losing momentum, and losing the file....

please help. Ta.

    Thanks.
