Scottish Power Standing Charge or No Standing Charge
Hi, I'm switching to the online Scottish Power tariff and was wondering if anyone has an idea if there is much difference between the standing charge/no standing charge options? I live in Glasgow and like a warm house so occasionally have the fire or heating on even in "summer"! Thanks.

to know if it makes a difference for you, you should check your average daily use (over the last winter, say) and sit with a calculator i'm afraid.0 -
there is a diffence in the tariff, you can check the tariff for your region on their website.

And if you were to bother to calculate whether you ought to choose the default choice for most (the no [daily] standing charge option) it is the summer useage, surely, that most people would have to analyse?
But, OP, just choose the no standing charge version.0 -
I've had a look back over an old bill and calculated on both a summer and winter useage and (I think) it works out less than 10p cheaper over a quarter on the daily charge option, does that seem likely?0
