Wireless Router

I want a wireless router I can plug into the ethernet connection on my modem. Bought a Belkin on Ebay and the only input is a phone line. This was listed as a wireless router, not a modem/router.This is no good to me as the modem sends my phone calls over the net and has a phone connection.
So how do I find a wireless router that plugs into my existing modem?

You have an ADSL modem and you want a wireless router to attach to it.
There are loads of these for sale in supermarkets or online here is a Netgear one on Amazon.

...........But why can't you just stick your username and password into the one you have bought off ebay? Or are you really on cable? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The one I bought only has an input from the phone line, the modem I use only has output by ethernet cable. So how do I connect an ethernet cable to a phone line input.
Are you sure these have an ethernet cable input?
Plus will it work with Snow Leopard?0 -
Not enough information. Like living in France!
What is the make and model of the item you bought off ebay and the make and model of your current modem?
Don't know about Snow Leopard, but if you mac works currently it should continue to work if you upgrade.
You were given some good advise here.

It sounds to me like you are on cable.
If you want to retain your current modem (for whatever reason) then you need a cable wireless router rather than and ADSL wireless router otherwise the wireless bit won't work.0 -
Yes, I realize now that I need a cable router, but how do I tell if a router is this type none of the descriptions of ones I have seen for sale mention this?
The one I bought secondhand on Ebay was described as a "wireless router", it is a Belkin FSD7632-4 and the label on the bottom describes it as an ADSL Modem with wireless router.
So any model numbers for older cable wireless routers?0
