Nationwide mortgage rates rising

FYI, their two year fix is going up from 4.39% to 4.55%. And on top of that I believe their fee is rising from 599 to £699!

Cheeky monkeys.

Their others rates are also rising by the same/similar amounts.

Variables continue to be the cheaper option (in the shorter term).

    why have they changed????

we have applied to change to the nationwide last week but due to having 20k on 0% cerdit cards from our oneaccount which needed to be paid off so it didn't show on our Credit check. we have now lost out on the 4.78 5 year fixed which has now gone up to 4.94 & an extra £10 a month on to our mortgage.

does anyone know if there are any lower rates for 5 years.??? but with no more than £499 charges to change

Typical, we applied for a 2 year fixed rate last week-I don't suppose they will honour the rate that we applied for?

Cases logged onto their systems by 5pm last night should have got the old ( lower) rates/ fees

They will be busy , so might be a while before they respond , but should check that were rec'd

( I hand delivered some on Saturday,- and still called up to check that they had hit right desk on Monday) yes guys I know they take online submission , but in NW case I find it easier to do paperbased

    ---
Mummytwinton - are you dsaying you delayed sending it in ( why- should just mark - cc to be repaid) or that they found it as "undisclosed credit" - these are not usually thrown out, rather referred but still get rate on submission date

I didn't think you would have had a response that quick-hope it all goes through quickly.

I am a bit peeved as my IFA did my mortgage meeting on the 29th April but only keyed the agreement in principal online 4th May & then he had to submit the actual paperwork to Nationwide.

    Hopefully we'll be OK then.

we spoke to someone last tuesday got all the figures & a ref number but when they did the credit checks it said they didn't to know more & that we had to send in copies of bank accounts & credit cards. we can get the mortgage as we have a 100k on our virgin one mortgage but have paid some off so only need 98k now. the only reason i know of that stopped it going though last week is the fact we have 20k on 0% ccards taken off our mortgage. i paid them off last week so no we are clear now so have no worries over gettting the mortgage jsut a pain to think we are losing out on the rate by a few days, we haven't paid anything to book the rate as they won't take a payment until the cc's come back clear.
so after speaking to 2 different people at nationwide today they both said we will have to pay the rate on the day it goes though.
    what a pain hey

sounds like it might have been only at "agreement in principal stage" rather than full cases -
did you submit a full application - was that direct or thro' a broker ?
