Do you have the card as the Co-op do not issue electron cards anymore?0

The Co-op Cashminder has the same problem too. This wil lbe changed soon. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...&postcount=216
Try other banks who will definately give you a VISA debit card, and not a card still disguised as an Electron.0 -
They are having a problem with the switchover. It is currently with Visa to have the card number changed so it is accepted as a debit card. So, it will in time work as described. If you want the 3-in-1 card you could always have written and appealed showing your other accounts bank statements for the last 3 months and perhaps a photocopy of the back and front of your current card to prove you already have the facility.0

I received my welcome pack today and to my shock it says on the letter that I am getting a full current account with a electron card.
I could not believe this because I have a good credit file and a Visa debit with cheque q and overdraft with HSBC as well as Visa debit card with my Lloyds TSB account.
I am not interested in using a visa debit card that is working as a electron so I told them to close the account because they have misled me.
Has this happen to anyone else
Which current account exactly did you apply for ?0 -
That account reserves the right to offer an Electron OR Visa debit card as per their T&C's ;-9. Card issue and PIN
9.1 We will issue you with an Electron or debit card
If a c/s advisor has told you that you will definately get a debit card then you have been misadvised and should bring it to their attention rather than close the account.

Thanks for the advice
How did you apply, phone, internet or branch ?0 -

They promise to open your account promptly and without error or pay you £15. Worth a try.
However, I do wonder when people will start to wake up and see past the warm glow that seems to surround the Co-op bank and smile: they have cr*p systems, terrible rates, hardly any branches (but you can queue up in a Post Office to pay in a cheque - er, no thanks), and their staff seem to think they are beyond criticism due to their ethical status. Move on.0 -
I wonder whether you were advised this prior to a credit search taking place. It could be that due to information reported it was decided not to offer the debit card, but to give you an Electron card as is their right.
If you haven't already closed the account I would make a formal complaint which has to be investigated, though whether it brings you the result you want is another matter.0 -
