May I inquire about site policy on how to deal with these unpleasant manifestations when they appear ( as they always eventually do?)
Trying to keep it simple...

"Don't feed the trolls"
On other sites I have posted on, this seems to be the policy.
The only way to deal with trolls is to limit your reaction to reminding others not to respond to trolls. When you try to reason with a troll, s/he wins. When you insult a troll, s/he wins. When you scream at a troll, s/he wins. The only thing that trolls can't handle is being ignored.Trying to keep it simple...0 -

sounds like a good idea, but in one particular case I sent the email to abuse 2 weeks ago , - when I could see that things were going in the wrong direction - albeit not really abusive (see definition above)
( I believe various other regulars have also done the same since ) but the problem is still not resolved)
I think Eds question is a valid one... one does not want to respond , but the way they post ( baiting ?) means in not doing so one's own crediability is put into question/ leaves accusations unansweredAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

There are some very sensible replies here. Ignoring is by far the best policy whilst reporting the post to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com and we can remove the posts and remove the ability of the troll to post if necessary.
I know it can be hard not to reply, but that is normally exactly what the trolls want, far better to ignore them and have the posts removed so as not to give in to what they want0 -
So, what's a goblin?Can I help?0
