Dollar Checking Account

Hi Every one,
I am looking to Open a Dollar checking account, through which i can transfer money from Pounds to Dollars. I have visited Citibank and HSBc, they are saying i need to maintain a minimum Balance of 2000$ ( if not a service charge of 10$ per month) or my salary has to go that account. i am not intereted in either of them. Does any one suggest me to open a dollar checking account, with minimum Balnce, No service Charges .
