Like a druggy having one last "Fix" in the form of "fiscal stimulus" or QE, 2010 will be time to go cold turkey, especially with quite so much debt to pay off !

Time we face the reality and accept what is comming rather than delaying it. That way we can rebuild our economy stronger and more importantly sustainably.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Seems to make sence to me, & inflation may well be a problem if they keep printing the $ as the fed seems to be0

Vitally important sory..
The Telegraph's full headline:
US credit shrinks at Great Depression rate prompting fears of double-dip recession
makes it clear how serious this is, potentially.
Scary stuff.0 -
Just so I understand this.....all these money printing/QE schemes were just hopeless speculative punts trying to delay the inevitable?
Triffic.....0 -
Yup, that's about it.
Actually..making it far worse, because we then have to sort out the mess that's caused, on top of the mess we already have due to recession. :rolleyes:0 -
And....during this small hump we pretend is the middle of the double dip....the false dawn allows the finance institutions to resume their mega bonus reward schemes, as though 2008 was a mere blip in proceedings.
No wonder people feel bitter....the divide in society widens yet again.0 -

No, I personally think these moves were meant to prolong the inevitable... in other words, allow us to make a necessary transition in our economy over ten years, rather than going through all the pain in a year.
And I think that was a good choice.
It was the choice Japan made in the 1990's... a depression now, or a decade of low growth.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

But I certainly don't think it was sold this way to the populace at large. It's been presented as a grand scheme to power us out of recession. It's not changed our debt habits either.0
