Another credit card needed for stoozing and advice

My wife recently closed her virgin credit card, it had a 0 balance on it for about a year she now has no credit card.
Could you give me some advise as to which card offer to apply for.
Where to put the money in order to make a profit worth all the applications.
I would assume she would get somewhere in the region of 5000-8000 limit
