    Hello Asos members,

I was wondering whether u cud help me. So far I bought 2 bags from Asos & its from a designer call :- just cavalli.

Each bag cost me more than £120.00 and when I received it, it stated made in china - that really worries me! did I bought fake bags from Asos? Reason is I thought that Just Cavalli is either made in Italy or somewhere in Europe & not China!

    Hope u can help me.

I am not sure- as I have not got indepth knowledge on this designer, but know as a designer (am not a designer but trained to be) China is a very popular place to get designs made up. The actual designer/house may well exist in Italty, or wherever, but they may well farm out stuff to be made up under instruction in China. It did used to be India but now China is cheaper. Agreed, the better made stuff is made in Italy- for some reason they seem to just make stuff faultlessly! but in these days of the economy, people make cuts and try to monitor the sacrifices. I would email or write to Just Cavalli if your concerned but tbh I wouldn't imagine ASOS would risk themselves selling fakes- its just not what they do!

    Thanks!!! :t :t :t
  • i WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE DOWN TO COSTS OF ITEMS,JUST CAVAILLI,A DIFFUSION LINE WOULD NOT WARRANT THE COSTS IT WOULD BE TO MAKE IN ITALY,AS IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A VOLUME ITEM,WHEREAS ROBERTO CAVALLI ITEMS SELLING FOR UPWARDS OF A £1000 EACH WOULD WARRANT BEING MADE IN ITALY AND THERE WOULD ALSO BE LOWER DEMAND FOR THESE ITEMS. LOTS OF GENUINE ITEMS ARE MADE IN CHINA,LETS TAKE UGGS FOR EXAMPLE AUSTRALIAN BRAND MADE IN CHINA,HIGH VOLUME ITEM ALSO!
I WOULD SERIOUSLY DOUBT ASOS WOULD BOTHER WRECKING THEIR REPUTATION TO SELL A FEW SNIDE GOODS!

I did, I email it to JC customer service but they still have not replied to my email. Thanks everybody for the feedback, for a moment I thought I was buying fake bags!!

    Slightly off the topic:-

I know I can get JC on Ebay - but I will not buy from the seller(s) if they cant proof where they bought it in the 1st place ie : original receipt. Some sellers are asking over £100 of designer bag yet they cant provide the original receipt. I myself, sells on ebay occasionally, & when I sell, I always enclosed the original receipt, this way my buyer(s) knows that they are getting genuine stuff.

That is why I was abit apprehensive when I received the bags from ASOS - MADE IN CHINA:eek: . I have a habit of selling off my bags after few years of using it. Then I start looking for new bags :rotfl: from Harrods/J.Lewis/Koodos/netabag & ASOS (my 1st time buying from them). I think I'll stick to Harrods now.
RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)
