on hold with abbey ,now they remove overdraft

Hi there
I've been on hold for 6 months with the abbey.
i have a claim for £1600 with them.

Today i received a letter from them saying as the account was not in regular use they were removing the overdraft of £800. When they know we moved banks after the terrible service we received from them.
So they owe me £1600 and i owe them £716. I cant get my owed monies from them but they are shutting the overdraft and then will make more
rip off charges on this sum. This doesn't seem fair to me. Do i call the abbey and waste hours getting no where again, do i contact the ombudsmen again.

I'm not sure on the best course of action any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Daren

If you have made no repayment plans on the overdraft then the bank is within its right to withdraw the overdraft to be honest. I would sort out a payment plan simply to take the account back down to zero even if that means £10 a month.

However, if they have levied charges in the meantime then it's reclaim central again ;)
Make sure any repayment plan is affordable to you.
