Bclays "goodwill" for hardship claim

A few weeks ago, we put in a hardship claim to Bclays for £2400. They have come back with a "goodwill" gesture of £1200 and indicated that they will look at the rest of the amount after the test case. They have indicated that our only recourse at this stage is to go to the financial ombudsman. Is this normal? I have looked through the forums, etc but having problems finding other cases, so sorry if y'all have answered this 100 times before.

Comments

  • Excellent. yep thats normal and the rest of your refund will be dealt with after the test case. the £1200 is an interim payment to help with with hardship and has no effect on the end result of the test case - if its in your favour they will simply subtract that £1200 off your refund.

congrats and I hope it helps you out of a hole
