BT Vision

I bought a BT Vision Box off Ebay and I can’t use it as I do not have a Vision account set up on my line (oopps I didn’t research it properly). It was still a good buy though as the £16 that I spend is still an excellent price for all of the extras that I received (hub, hub phone, spare cables, etc.) and the 160gb hard drive that is inside the box.


Has anyone else had any experience with this?

......If I ring BT and say that a friend has given me their old box and ask that the correct settings be put in place on my account, will they do it?
Or will they just insist that I pay the £90 to them for a new box (I am not interested in the monthly subscription packages).

Any views would be appreciated.

as long as your broadband is with bt, you should be able to phone them up, and get them to set up a vision account on your account, so you can use your box, HTH Dave

Yes, I do have BT broadband. I will give them a ring and see if they will set it up for me.

192.168.1.254 is the BT box IP. Just setup your details and away you go.
