How to convert MP3 to "ordinary" CD ?

I've got a bunch of MP3 files that I want to put on to a CD to listen to in the car. The CD player won't play MP3 format, what format do I need to convert them to allow them to play on a normal CD player ?
Oh, and there's nothing dodgy going on here :-) It's a friend of mine who's recently started a band and has sent me some demo tracks of his, but he's only got them in MP3 format at the moment - until such time as he hits the big time and becomes rich and famous !

Most CD burning programs give the option to produce an "Audio CD" and will convert the MP3s to the correct format.
You won't be able to store loads of them on CD though - it will only be 74mins or so just like "real" CDs.
You could buy a cheapo MP3 player to FM radio for use in the car.
I bought one someone linked to from here for just over £6 and it works OK. Mine was a bit cheaper than this but the seller I got it from isn't listing them now. If you are interested it is worth a search to see if you can get it cheaper

Ah - actually that one is slightly different - it has 1GB memory - mine accepts USB pen drives or an SD card.0 -
If you are using Windows O/S and have Windows Media Player the you can do this on there at pretty much a click of a button. Using the copy to CD or Device option.
Unfortunately I am not on my windows machine right now however you could check here for instructions... http://www.opentutorial.com/Burn_a_CD_using_windows_media_player
Hope this helps_______________________

Hello

Does WMP only work if you copy straight to CD? Or can you copy to your PC to rearrange playing order & etc. before burning?
I think I've ripped some as mp3 and might have to start all over again :-(
I've seen loads of free converter software - has anyone used one they can recommend.
Thanks0 -
