Just got a new 32" Flat screen TV. The TV scanned all the channels and works ell. Connected the video with a scart lead. It records channels 1 to 5 but how do I tape the other Freeview channels. The Video can only register the first 5 channels??

Your video is recording from it's own internal (analogue) tuner, not your TV's built in digital tuner. You'll need to set the video to record from the SCART input the TV is connected to and hopefully the TV will output whatever it is tuned to, but you will be limited to recording only what you are watching on TV and will have to leave the TV switched on (and tuned to the channel you want to record) to record anything when you are out. There's love in this world for everyone. Thanks Fifer, thought that would be the answer but its a waste of time having to leave the TV switch on just to tape a program. Upgrading is not all a bed of roses.0

The cheapest solution would be to buy a cheap freeview box from a supermarket (£15) and feed that into your video. That would allow you to record from the digibox when out (so you could switch off the TV) and to watch one Freeview channel and record another when at home.
The more elegant and user-friendly (but expensive) solution is to buy a Freeview recorder and ditch the video. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

One of the scart sockets on the TV will have a digital output, this goes into the back of the video, and to record off this you usually select channel 0 or one of the 'Ext In's' on the video to record it. You cannot use the video timer to change the TV channel.
However, some TV's have a built in multi-event timer so you can set it to turn the tuner on at the required channel at the same time as you've set your video to record (I don't think the whole TV comes on but that probably depends on the model), check the instructions.Out on blue six..

Sorry to be pedantic, but there are no digital outputs on SCART; it's an analogue connection system. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
