Isle of wight ferry

Hi there, completely new to all of this, but have just trawled the internet looking for something that I thought was quite simple ha ha!! Looking at the cost of car and caravan ferry crossing to Isle of Wight and the cheapest route possible from Dorset ie; Lymington to Cowes, or Southampton etc. Anyone got any suggestions please?

I've never taken a caravan before, but have travelled over with the car quite often. I have found Red Funnel to be the cheapest travelling from Southampton, although it is a much longer crossing, but very picturesque travelling through the Solent. We tend to travel with Wightlink out of Portsmouth as it is slightly nearer for us, and as we tend to do day trips, the shorter crossing time is ideal, more time on the Island.
