final payslip or p60 ? ( tax credits )

hello.

when you receive your annual review for the end of tax year.

which one can you use ? which one is preferred and why ?

its just that a friend/relative wanted to use there final payslip of the tax year but the tax credits people said no you need your p.60 to finalise your award.

on the declaration it does state :

details of your income for the tax year from 6/4/05 to 5/4/05

you may find the information you need on.

- your final payslip for the tax year , or
- your form p60 given to you by your employer , or
- tax return if you are self employed.
you will need these to work out the income details required in part 2 of this form.

thankyou

from kerry.

    either or is fine.
we prefer the p60 as that has to the penny income dets.
we allow final wage slip (end Mar 06) as this has near as damn it income. unless you are on fantastic wages the difference in the income figure from the final wage slip and p60 will be £10's of pounds rather than £100's or £1000's.
