I don't mind ironing, I put a cd on loud while I'm doing it & its seems to get done quicker that way :D

Couldn't give up coffee though, no way!

I love ironing! Not that I do it very often. It gives me time to reflect on things. It's quite relaxing.

Still, can understand why others don't. OP, if you pay per item you could always iron the easy things (like pillowcases) yourself and get the awkward things (like duvet covers) ironed by your ironing lady. Value for money!

I really really hate ironing...but it's something thats got to be done I guess.
Sometimes I just do one massive load in one go, other times I just iron what I need to wear on the day. It helps if you hang the clothes up to dry on coat hangers, or hang them up straight after the come out of the tumble drier. Hate ironing, but all the other household jobs I don't really mind.

I dont do ironing! Its really bad, and not cheap but if I need Jeans or something for a night out, I stick it in the dryer for 10 mins!!!!

Getting the creases out of clothes is all about clever use of tumble dryer & coat hangers. I dry my washing on the line/airer, then give a blast in the TD for 10 minutes. Hang up immediately (while it's still warm) & most things do not need ironing. Life is too short to iron sheets, towels, underwear or jeans!
Even though you say you cannot give up your ironing lady, could you just use her less?

I simply don't iron. Haven't done in 4 years. I buy clothes that don't need it, and if any special dresses or things need doing I hang them in the bathroom when I take a shower. I find any creases drop out.

I just couldn't give up paying a child minder once a week 2-9.30pm. I pay her £40 and she also cleans my kitchen and does the laundry (although I keep tellling her not to). As a single mum who runs her own business those few hours not being Alyx's mum or 'the lady from the wool shop' is the closest thing to being switched off as I get.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I dont iron either, unless its for a wedding or interview or something similar.
I hang it on the line on hangers if appropriate or fold nicely & I am a bit more careful when i buy these days aswell. I am not sure how i stopped, it just happened one day & i havnt ironed since.I dont dry clean either. Even the velvet curains went in the wash on delicates & came out okay. Cant remember how much the cleaners wanted to charge but it was in the hundreds not tens!

Life without chinese food once in a while would be sad. When we couldnt afford a car i cycled about 10 miles to our favourtite takeaway for a fix about every 6 months. Really appreciated it by the time i got ot home i can tell you. Now we have it for a month end treat.

msn_ooooh.pngmsn_ooooh.pngmsn_ooooh.png I'm quite frankly shocked at home many people not only don't do ironing but use the tumble drier of all things for a non-MSE shortcut. In winter it's not so bad but in summer would you still use it then?! msn_ooooh.png

I hate the woman but I think that some of you could do with a touch of Anthea Turner to show you how to iron everything perfectly, including socks, towels, flannels and of course denim lol. I had no idea the nation was so untidy/disorganised/lazy/et al.!

I just don't do ironing, my iron and iron board were bought new when I first moved out of my mum and dad's nearly 12 years ago and I could probably still pass them off as new :rotfl:

Despite being committed to DFW there's absolutely no way I could give up my window cleaner, our house faces a motorway and at £3 every fortnight it's worth every penny!!
