Overcharged at Asda

I was overcharged for something at Asda at the weekend - I bought some bottles of Pepsi, but when they went through the checkout I was charged £3.98 instead of £3.78. I saw Customer Services about this who were more than willing to refund the difference, but I'm sure that the last this happened at Asda they gave me a £2 gift voucher too. I was too shy to say anything on Saturday, but can anyone clarify what their current policy is on being overcharged?
Thanks,
Nicola

Well i was overcharged at M&S i brought 4 packs of onion bajji's that where £1-99 reduced to 99p but went through till at full price and when i pointed this out the cashier rang for someone to check, which now held up other shoppers :-( when it came back i was correct there was no appology, the cashier near enough threw the cash at me, i felt i was made to feel a criminal:o0

Yes Asda do (or did last time for me) give £2 gift card with misprices but you usually have to ask because the CS are tight like its their own money!!

I once had to wait a bit longer than normal at a check out at ASDA because the client in front of me had some trouble paying. We got £1 off our bill because of the wait. Quite pleasantly surprised they did that! :T0

I was overcharged at Asda this morning only by 20p. the jobsworth customer service assistant. even had my discount card off me to deduct the !0% staff discount that I received on the overcharge, but it was still worth the bother because I got a £2 gift card out of it as well as the 18p overcharged originally.
I had to ask for the £2 it was not offered, I dont think this person likes me because I am always getting these cards, there are mistakes on at least 50% of my weekly shopping trips.0 -

I had similar experiance at M&S last week. Had to wait 15 minutes for refund difference only. I e-mailed customer services over a week ago to say if I didnt get compo I would report to Trading Standards. Haven't even got an acknowledgement yet.0 -

Hi, I had the same thing happent o me at Asda - I bought two dolmio sauces and they were menat to come up as two for two pounds but didn't. When I went to customer services I got my 48p back (reluctantly - I had to go back and check the deal as she didn't believe me!) but I didn't get my two pound card, and like the first poster I didn't want to ask for it as there was a big queue behind me!0

I've had a few £2 gift cards in my time for being overcharged. I normally have to remind them of their policy. Once a CS fobbed me off so I sent an email to HQ and got an apology and a £3 gift card. I would have been very if it wasn’t for the fact that I manage to put the card in the recycling bin by mistake.0

Asda do have a policy to give you a £2 giftcard if you've been overcharged, but they don't like advertising it. I've always had to ask for it.
Don't feel embarrased to ask: it's their mistake, they're wasting your time, so why should you feel embarrassed? :cool:What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged or undercharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.

Got a £2 gift card this very morning - bought a price reduced loaf of bread but the yellow reduction sticker was only half covering the original barcode which is what the till scanned it as.
(I actuallly look for reduced items where the yellow sticker is badly positioned)
Went to CS desk for my 78p refund and given the gift card without mentioning it (as always in my experience)
