Using BT Home hub with non-BT account

Hi
Quick one but I have acquired an unused BT home hub which has a USB port on it.
Can I set up this to work wirelessly with my Macbook and have my printer networked in too - taking into account I don't use BT as my internet provider? Or have BT cleverly made their own equipment unusable if not on a BT account?
Worth a shot..... Would save me buying an Apple Extreme/Time Capsule!

BT Homehub sucks, get a netgear or something.0

It's quite possible if you can get into the Hub's config menu that the default username and password could be changed.
If you don't know the Hub admin login credentials (possibly printed somewhere on the hub itself) try a quick google.
But in theory, I'd say yes.0 -

yes you can !
but you need to flash the firmware of the router this frees up the user name and password page enabling you to log to other suppliers
i am using a old white bt home hub and I'm with pipex isp
the hub looses some functions but if all you want is wireless and or a wired network it works well
as already said google is your friend0
