My friend has a lot of files on his PC, around 30 all approx 4.3GB. These are programs he has that are required for his work but his HDD is now becomming full and he wants to compress them.
Can anyone suggest the best way of doing this.
Thanks

buy more storage or get work to buy more storage. or burn them to a dvd, each will fit nicly onto a single layer dvd.
chances are most the data is compressed already and you'll get very poor compression rations, I tried a 4gb iso (win sbs) and saved measly 400mb with winrar and about 100mb with ntfs compressgion (orig size 4000mb), thats not worth the extra hassle.
can't say I know know many programs (except games) that are over 4gig in size....0 -
It's difficult to know whether they are compressable, or what the best tool to use might be without knowing what sorts of file they are.Stompa0
