changing details or ending auction query

I'm a ebay newby. I am auctioning a football and have just had a query about the size. Not knowing much about football I had assumed it was full size, so I measured the diameter which was 8 inches, and according to info on the web this suggests it is size 4 (not the full size size 5). My description does not specify a particular size.
I'd like to add this info to the details but I already have one low-ish bid, and AIUI you can't change the details if you have a bid. Is that right?
I'm a bit concerned that when it sells I'll have hassle over this - i.e. "you didn't say that it wasn't a full size ball, I want a refund" etc...
I'm therefore thinking about withdrawing the auction. Any idea how much it will cost to remove it from the auction with one current bid?

You can add note at the bottom the text, although you are not able to edit the original text.
And it doesn't cost you anything specific to pull an auction. You will just the lose the fees you have paid to list.0 -
Thanks. I'll add an exta bit of text to the description.
What happens if the person with the bid reads this and decides it's not what he thought it was, and now wants to retract their bid? Do they lose some money for withdrawing their bid?0 -
They don't lose money. However, it does appear on there personal record that they have retracted a bid ... something they may not want people to see on the file.
See if you can try and contact them, and maybe volunteer to remove the bid (not sure if you can or how to do this). That way they won't have to retract the bid, and in theory it won't appear on there record. :-)0
